Every day, in Romania, a child is diagnosed with cancer. He just happens to be sick, just like you and I just happen to be healthy.

The statistics are frightening. Over 5,000 children battle each year with cancer in Romania. 50% is the survival rate, while the European average is 80%. The lack of sanitation, proper technology and medications, plus an excessive bureaucracy are other battles the children have to carry. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are solutions and projects able to change that and this article is about one.

Today is the 22’nd of November and also today I turn 23. This year, instead of giving me presents, I’m asking you to donate to my campaign. I already have everything I want, while the children at “Marie Curie” Hospital really need decent treatment conditions!

I started this fundraising campaign to help Bursa de Fericire build the first integrated Oncology and Radiotherapy Clinic in Romania and I’m looking for anyone who can help me. This will be the first center in Bucharest that is integrated into a Pediatric hospital and is able to ensure multidisciplinary treatment to children with cancer, thus increasing their survival rate. We’ll be eliminating the difficult trips made for complementary services and keeping everything under the same (modern) roof: intensive care, surgical procedures, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
